It took 8 to 15 hours to apply the body paint and prosthetics
that Rebecca Romijn wore as Mystique in X-Men the movie.
The makers of the X-Men movies, used Casa Loma, for interior shots of the
X-Mansion. Casa Loma is located in Toronto, Canada.
And is a landmark and
tourist attraction for Toronto.
In X2: X-Men United, on Stryker's computer the following files are listed:
Guthrie, Paige (Husk) Guthrie, Samuel (Cannonball) Harada,
Keniucho (known as
The Silver Samurai) LeBeau, Remy (Gambit) Lehnsherr, Eric (Magneto) Kane,
Garrison (Weapon X) Maddocks,
Artie (Artie) Madrox, Jamie (Multiple Man) Mahn,
Xi'an Coy (Karma) Maximoff (2) (Wanda and Pietro, Scarlet Witch and
Quicksilver. Names weren't specified) MacTaggert, Kevin (Proteus) Moonstar,
Danielle (Moonstar) Munroe, Ororo (Storm).
Many of the X-Men from the comics who don't have major roles in the film still
appear as minor characters in the school. Among them
are: In X2: Colossus makes
a short appearance (when the mansion is being invaded, he helps the children get
out safely), Shadowcat
appears in X2 but is played by a different actress (when
the mansion is being invaded, she phases through a commando), Iceman has a
much
bigger part in X2 (as Rogue's boyfriend), Pyro also has a large part in X2, also
Siryn is in X2 as the screaming girl (when the
commandoes attack)
Most of the eye effects were done by using special contact lenses that the
actors found very uncomfortable to wear. Rebecca Romijn-
stamos (Mystique) could
only wear her lenses for an hour at a time and had only 10% vision. Halle Berry
(Storm) was supposed to wear
opaque white lenses for the scenes where she uses
her weather-control powers. However, she found the lenses unbearable, so her eye
effects had to be done entirely through CGI. -Source SciFlicks.com
Director Bryan Singer initially wanted Russell Crowe to play Wolverine.
Hugh Jackman, took cold showers to get that trademark Wolverine rage.
The visor worn by James Marsden in his role as Cyclops apparently impaired his
vision so severely that he sometimes had to be led
around the movie set. -Source EntertainmentNuts.com
In X2, one of the guards that are listed on Yuriko's computer is Bryan
Singer (Director of the X-Movies).
In X2, Bobby's brother Ronny, has a flaming-bird symbol on his shirt (Phoenix
reference).
The character General William Stryker was partly based on the Reverend Stryker
is Claremont's graphic novel "God Loves, Man Kills".
If you look at Bobby's bedroom in the scene where he and Rogue kiss, you'll see
that he has several snowboarding posters on his wall
and skis in the corner
against the wall - all connecting to his icy abilities.
In the comic, Xavier had a son named David Haller who became known as
Legion. He was mentally disturbed, suffering from multiple
personality disorder. He had several different psychic powers, and each
personality controlled a different power. One of them was a
young girl. His left eye was green, and his right eye was blue. In the
movie, Stryker has a son named Jason. He is mentally disturbed or
catatonic. He has psychic powers. In the illusion he creates for Xavier,
he appears as a young girl. His left eye is green. His right eye is
blue. It would seem that this is supposed to be the movie's version of Legion. Some people also
say that Jason is Mastermind aka Jason
Wyngarde (or Jason Stryker, I guess in
the movie) who has the telepathic ability to create illusion that are
completely believable in every
way, sight smell, sound.
In X2, during the bar scene (when Mystique is flirting with the guard), if you
look at the TV screen you will see a man talking, and the
name on the screen
says Hank McCoy (Beast's real name).
Listen to Storm in X2, her crazy accent disappeared!
