X-Men 3 Teaser!

The trailer for X-Men 3 is now online right here, however, you must have Quicktime to view it. I keep having issues with Quicktime on my computer, so as soon as I can find it in another format, I'll be sure to post it for you guys. Enjoy!!

X-MEN 3 DIRECTOR UPDATE!

Ladies and gentlemen, we may (finally!) have a director for X-Men 3! Nothing official yet, but remember, if it is confirmed or denied, Sam's X-Men Site (SXMS) will have details! (nope, see below)

So SXMS heard that Matthew Vaughn, director of Layer Cake and producer of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, could be the director we've been waiting for! The only main source of this news is Ain't It Cool-News though, so it could just be another rumor. UPDATE: IGN FilmForce reported that their "insider" confirmed that Matthew Vaughn is the new director! And if that wasn't good enough, Variety also confirmed it.

Update!: Guys, I've got a heck of a bad update on this... Matthew Vaughn dropped out of the X-Men 3 movie for "personal reasons." What exactly are these reasons? He doesn't want to move his family to make this movie. Oh come on! He's a director for crying out loud!! I'm getting so furious at this so-called project of a movie. I almost wish they'd just call it quits... Bryan come home!! Heh, sorry. So anyway we're back where we started again -- A mismatched cast, close date, and no director. FOX better work quickly. More updates as we get 'em. =(

Update!!: We have a new director folks! Brett Ratner is talking over the X-Men 3 helm. The most well known movies Ratner has directed would be the Rush Hour flicks. A bit of trivia -- Ratner was one of the directors being considered for the first X-Men movie, but Singer got the job instead. Shooting for X3 is still said to take place this August, because they're still aiming for a May 2006 release date.

A Halle Of A Storm

In August of '03 Berry said that she  hasn't made up her mind yet about  whether or not she wants to be a weather  goddess again. "No, I haven't,"  she said. "Simply because I haven't seen a script. I haven't been offered the third movie, you know? So I have no idea if it'll come my way or not."

In Dec. '03 Halle said that she isn't signed  to make any more X-Men movies but she  says she'd come back for another if "they could give Storm a little bit more to do." Even if she's  relegated to the background, she'll likely  return. "I'm so connected to the group that I would come back."

There's also rumors of Christina Millian  taking over the role of Stormy.

Update: I realize it's been awhile since I've added a update to this rumor, but it's because it was always the same thing again and again. Halle seems to just be a bit too egotistical about X-Men 3, but while at the 2005 Kids Choice Awards she mentioned (yet again) that she'd love to play Storm in X3.

Update: Vaughn recently said "Halle's probably the only member of the X-Men I haven't spoken to yet."

Update: Waha! Superhero Hype! says that Entertainment Weekly recently had an article about X3, and it listed some of the X-Men that will be returning. Including.... Halle! I don't know if this is true yet, 'cause there's nothing on EW site yet, but maybe, just maybe we'll have our Stormy back!

Update: Well apparently, Halle is going to be in X-Men 3. Because there's an charity auction for lunch with Halle Berry on the set of X-Men three.

Update: New X-Movie means new Storm haircut, apparently. Halle will be sporting an even shorter white wig this time around.

Brotherhood grows

Remember the end of X2? Pyro left with Magneto. Dum dum dum. So they will probably be causing some mischief. Bryan has suggested that he wants to bring Maggie back in X3. And well, it's obvious that he'd be in X3, because he is the only villain the X-Men have, apart from Stryker, who is dead.

Update:  A young actress was spotted on the set of X-Men 3. She is, supposedly, one of Magneto's henchmen. She may be either Jubilee or Scarlet Witch, or neither of those two. Still very vague.

Also, Mutiple Man will be either one of Magneto's henchmen or one of Omega Red's. He, Multiple Man, will be played by Eric Dane (former Charmed star).

Can Jessica Simpson Dazzle us?

Rumor has it that Pop princess Jessica Simpson was to play Dazzler in X3. Thankfully this rumor has been proven to be just a little rumor, and nothing more.

Whatcha talkin' 'bout Phoenix?

Okay, every comic geek that saw X2 (which is all of them, including me) knows that when Jeannie drowned, she actually didn't, and that X3 will probably be about the Phoenix saga. But, for those of you who don't know about the Phoenix saga read below:

The Phoenix saga happened when the X-Men were coming back from space, they ended up in a solar radiation storm and couldn't have anyone pilot the ship because the pilot wouldn't be shielded from the radiation. So Jean volunteered to fly them back to earth. But even Jean's crazy strong powers weren't strong enough. And she couldn't block the radiation any longer. She cried out for help and someone came. The Phoenix Force. It created an exact replica of Jean out of itself, and put Jean in suspended animation at the bottom of Hudson bay, while the Phoenix Force took over as Jean. The Phoenix Force Jean took the new codename "Phoenix."

Famke Janssen recently told About.com this:

"Bryan really wanted to follow that storyline (the Dark Phoenix) because it’s one of the biggest storylines in the X-Men comic books. So it would have been great for me if that had happened and that scenario. I’m not sure what they’re going to do. I know Dark Phoenix is a huge part of the X-Men saga, so I’m assuming they’re at least going to want to touch on it, but I don't know and I don't know whether I would want to be involved. That depends on many different things."

When asked if she'd come back for X3:

"I might. It depends. It depends on many different things, who the director would be. Bryan Singer is no longer going to direct it. He did the first two and then he ended up doing Superman now. I love the first two
X-Mens because I thought that Bryan Singer did such a great job. He elevated that whole genre. He’s a very talented director."

UPDATE!: Famke Janssen told Superhero Hype that: "I've heard things and they're developing the script right now, Dark Phoenix is part of that script."

UPDATE!: X-MenFilms.net said that their FOX insider told them that not only is Phoenix in X3, but so are....Sentinels! Eee! I'm so excited, as should you be! (confirmed as a rumor, check below or click here)

Update: Moviehole spoke with Simon Kinburg:

MH: "Will "X-Men 3" be about Dark Phoenix?"
Kinburg:
"I'm not allowed to say, but your guess is…. it was set up pretty well in the second movie. So, that's part of the third movie, but there's a new plot that's the story of the film. "

UPDATE: Well, I'm not sure if I posted in on here at all before, but a little while ago, Avi Arad had told us that Dark Phoenix was going to be part of X-Men 3, but wasn't going to have a big part. That sounded so "urgh" to me, as well as other X-Fans I know. But, thank goodness, Kinburg has renewed faith in the movie by saying that Dark Phoenix does have a big part in the movie. And that there is also a secondary plot. So hoorah!

Update: X-Men 3 will contain a flashback scene revealing Jean Grey's origin. Actress Haley Ramm (Flightplan) will be playing the role of young Jean Grey.

And IGN interviewed Simon Kinburg, he said this about Jean/Famke:
"Wait till you see Famke Janssen in this film. She's going to blow your mind."

The big Beastie and Cajun

Hank McCoy may be making another appearance in the X-Movies. The first time was in X2, when Mysti was flirting with the guard, on the TV, McCoy was talking.
Beast was supposed to be in the first movie, but the SFX were to extreme. So the character "Jean Grey" became "Dr. Jean Grey"

The Ragin' Cajun is the most rumored new character.
A lot of people think Orlando Bloom (Legolas in LotR trilogy & Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean) would make a good Remy LeBeau as long as he can do the accent alright.

Update!: Yet another actor was rumored for the role of Gambit is Colin Farell! This is still just a maybe, of course, but who knows!

Update!: IGN FilmForce told us that their "insider" told them that Beast will be a "major character" and Beast "will be seen in his transformed state." So all you Beast fans can celebrate! IGN also said that Gambit will be a small character in X3. But "it's uncertain whether [Rogue and Gambit's relationship] will be a part of X3 in any way."

Update!: With IGN recapping the information they/we know, we've gotten a few more facts:

"New mutant characters will include Beast, Gambit and Angel. <snip> Fans should not expect Gambit to play a major role in the story. It seems he's included more to appease the fans than anything else."

Update!: See "The Real McCoy" rumor/fact.

Write us a screen, Mr. Kinburg!

20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios are moving forward with X3 by hiring Simon Kinberg to help write the script. Kinburg was done work with the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, Elektra, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and XXX3.
Kinberg said the story line for X3 is still being "hammered out". He also said:

"I'm a religious reader of the X-Men comics, and I loved the first two movies, I had a great experience with Fox and Marvel on the other projects, and when they came to me and asked me if I had any interest in X3, I was ecstatic. I grew up on them, and I love these comics, and it's exciting to take a whack at making the third the biggest and best in the trilogy; it's our 'Return of the King.'"

Whedon to sweeten X3?

Nope. Since the rumors of Brian not directing X3 started, Joss Whedon was rumored to be the new director. (Joss Whedon being the creator of the hugely popular Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the hit spin-off, Angel.) At an interview with About.com, Joss cleared up the pesky little rumor:

“Nobody has approached me about the X-Men franchise. Would I like to make an X-Men movie? That would be bitchin’. I actually really like those actors and I really like those characters and I think there’s a lot that could be done with it and it would be a romp. But I’m not setting my sights on that.”

Singer won't sing for us this time

It was rumored that Bryan Singer, director of the first two X-Men movies, wasn't going to direct X3. The rumors were finally confirmed as true, meaning that Singer will not be directing X3, because of his busyness with directing the new Superman movie. Here is what Singer said to AiCN in early Oct. 04:

"I had a very strong vision for the next X-Men picture. But Superman has always been a dream of mine. Things weren't moving as quickly as...it was difficult, and I love those actors and I have a strong relationship with the X-Men universe. I'm still taking over the writing of Ultimate X-Men for a year, so I'm by no means out of that universe. But I've had an idea for a Superman movie for many years, so for me the fact that it was available and Warner Bros. was willing to take everything it had spent 11 years developing with three other directors and throw it completely out and let me start from scratch an an accelerated level of time...once they showed the willingness, the desire and excitement to do that after my pitch, it became an obvious choice for me, but a difficult one."

Minorities

Olivia Williams has been cast for the role of Dr. Moria MacTaggert.

Shohreh Aghdashloo will be playing Dr. Kavita Rao, a character just recently introducing in the X-Comics. However, it has been said that she may actually be playing the part of Dr. Cecilia Reyes instead. This has been debunked for now, but who knows.

Shauna Kain is returning as Siryn. Some may remember seeing her when the commandos attacked in X2.

Bryce Hodgson is also returning. He had played Artie, the boy who ate ice cream in the museum.

Ashlyn Dixon is rumored to have an so-far unnamed role. As well as Riley Cantner and Sanjeen Sandhu.

Dania Ramirez, rumored to be an hench(wo)man.

Omahyra Mota will be playing Stacy X in X3. Stacy will be Juggernaut's armcandy.

Makenzie Vega, from the movie Saw, is said to have had a small role in X3. However, who it is she played, is unknown at the moment.

In Early November, there was a casting session, looking for a younger Magneto. But wait, by younger they don't seem to mean a teenager, they mean a 40-something-year-old Mags. No word yet on who was cast.

One will leave the pack

In June of 04, James Marsden (Cyclops) told About.com what he knows about X3 so far. Unfortunately, it's not much:

"I think everyone will be back with the exception of one person, I don't know that for a fact though because I just spoke with the writers and they said, 'Oh, it might not be the case.' So I don't know. I have no idea. I talked to Hugh Jackman the other day and he said, 'Do you know anything about X3?' And I said, 'I haven’t a clue.'"

Marsden also told Sci-fi Wire this:

"I know that there's an outline, a treatment out there, for the third one, I don't know what's in it or what the story is."

A lot of help he is, eh?

Various comments

Rebecca Romij (Mystique) said:
"I'm dreading the makeup part, but nothing else. I'm so happy to be a part of that franchise, and I love those people. It's a really exciting thing to be a part of."

Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) said:
"I am signed on for X3. If there is an X3, I will be there for it."

Patrick Stewart (Xavier) said:
"X-Men 3 will go into production next June 2005 in Vancouver"
Update:
It has been announced that they are going to start filming August 2005.

Bruce Davidson (Senator Kelly) said:
"I guess I could play Storm if all else fails, I'd just have to get a wig."

A 20th Century Fox rep. said:
"The role is being written with the idea that it can easily be switched out for another character under the circumstances that actress, Halle Berry cannot return."

Alan Cummings (Nightcrawler) said:
"I signed for two films, so I'm going to."

*Bamf* He's Gone

Simon Kinburg said:
"
We didn't write the script with the next movies in mind. But it's definitely not the end of the series. I know they [20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios] plan on making Wolverine and more X-Men movies. We wrote the script as the end of a trilogy, the end of one cycle. The next movies will start a new cycle."

Director Blues

A 20th Century Fox rep had this to say:

"We are working VERY hard to find the perfect

director to do X3. The studio has it narrowed down to a few good men, and talks are being held often between both parties. Two of these three men have worked with Fox Studios before, and have been suggested by not only the head of the studio, but executive producer, Avi Arad. It's getting quite close, and a final decision should be made shortly after final presentations are made to the studio."

Update!: Tim Story (Barbershop, FF) may be
X-Men 3's new director!

Update!: Still no news on this^, and as seen above, we have another rumored director. However it has been said that Hugh Jackman has approval on the new director, whomever that may be.

Is Cyclops Psyching Us Out?

Gregory Ellwood, columnist of Hollywood Hitlist said that his sources told him this:

"Unless a miracle occurs, James Marsden has already been removed from consideration as Cyclops after he took a smaller part as Perry White's son in Superman Returns. We'll see if Marsden's loyalty to Singer was a smart career move,"

Update!: IGN FilmForce's insider told us some depressing news about Cyke! They said that Cyclops "is still in the movie but not as a major character." However, there's still no news on if Marsden is going to play him or not.

Update!!: IESB reported that Avi Arad told people at Wizard World that he hopes to have Marsden back for X3 and Arad said that James Marsden called him and said that he read about this on the internet and said, "What are you doing...I told you I'm in."
All in all, this looks like good news for Cyke/Marsden fans!

Update!: Moviehole talked to Kinberg (X3 screenwriter) who confirmed that James Marsden will return "briefly" for the film. But he's "definitely a part of the movie."

Update!: The lovely James Marsden recently talked to The Advocate about if he wants to play Cyke again:

"I want nothing more than to be a part of X-Men 3, especially since they're probably going into the Dark Phoenix saga, which would include my character a lot, but the schedule might conflict. I hope it all works out. I told them I'd do it for free."

More news as we get it...

Mr. Roboto

Talk of the Sentinels being in an X-Movie have been going on since X2, but
X-MenFilms.net said that their insider told them that the Sentinels may be in X-Men 3! Read:

"In addition to Jean's PHOENIX, the SENTINELS and Dr. Bolivar Trask seem to be making their debut in X3, if the current screenplay doesn't go through drastic changes."

I was in awe when I read that! It's a great way to fill in that place of someone that wants to get rid Dark Phoenix. Think about it, they obviously can't have the Shi'ar Empire in X3... This may be really cool!

UPDATE: IGN said that their insider told them that the Sentinels will not be in X3. =(

Update: IGN told a bit more about how Trask will not be in X-Men 3:
"Despite recent rumors, there will be no appearances made by Dr. Bolivar Trask, the Sentinels, Sebastian Shaw, or Mr. Sinister; however, fans should expect there to be some human secondary characters with their own nefarious agendas."

Swooping Down From Heaven

New character almost confirmed! It has been said by IGN that Angel aka Warren Worthington III will be a "major character" in X-Men 3!

Update: IGN is doing a recap of what we know so far about X-Men 3, and one of the things they mentioned was about the new characters.
"Angel will be male and not female as erroneously reported elsewhere."

More news as it comes to us!

NEWS!: Ben Foster (Hostage, Punisher) has been cast as (Arch)Angel.

Update: Pictures of the Worthington Labs building are circulating all over the web. There is going to be a scene where (Arch)Angel will fly around the said building.

Confirmed Actors

Here's who we know will for certain (maybe) be coming back (and joining in) to act in X3:

Hugh Jackman (Wolvie)
Patrick Stewart (Xavier)
Ian McKellen (Magneto)
Rebecca Romij (Mystique)
Famke Janssen (Jean)
James Marsden (Cyclops)
Halle Berry (Storm)
Vinnie Jones (Juggernaut)
Kelsey Grammer (Beast)
Ben Foster (Archangel)
Olivia Williams (Dr. Moria MacTaggert)
Shohreh Aghdashloo (Dr. Kavita Rao)
Shauna Kain (Siryn)
Bryce Hodgson (Artie)
Omahyra Mota (Stacy X)
Ellen Page (Shadowcat)

Jugger Or Not?

It was said that Vinnie Jones was going to be playing an unspecified villain in X3... but we have found out who he will be playing! He will be playing Cain Marko aka the Juggernaut!

Remy is that you?!

Scott Madji was rumored to be the actor who'd be playing the role of Remy LeBeau (aka Gambit), however another rumor was that he was not going to be Remy, but actually a younger Professor Xavier!! Which, because Juggernaut has been announced as a villain, is a feasible theory. He could perhaps be used as a younger Xavier for a flashback scene. However nothing has been confirmed yet.

Update!: Sorry to disappoint all the Gambit fangirls (and guys) but it has been reported that there will NOT be a cameo by Gambit.

The Real McCoy

Well talks about who'd play Beast in X-Men 3 have been all over the place, like the rest of the cast. This movie is so scattered right now, I hope it shapes up soon. Anywho, the actor that'll be playing Beast was finally announced... Kelsey Grammer! While it sounds kooky, I think Kelsey is actually a good move on the X-People's part. He'll be the real Dr. Hank McCoy. *laughs*

Also, Avi Arad discussed the costume Grammer will be wearing:
"You will see Beast like you've never seen him before. It's going to be very true to the comic. Of course we're building a suit and hair, you name it. Without going into detail, he's a very central character here in the movie."

She Hides in the Shadows

Shadowcat was rumored to get a new actress playing her, and Maggie Grace (from the ABC hit, Lost) was the main woman in talks.

Though I still haven't found any official word on this, it seems Grace is going to play Shadowcat. I can't say I'm happy about this, because she hardly looks like the shy, girl next door type, but eh. I just hope she at least dyes her golden locks brown.

Update: Yay, okay, trying not to seem too excited about this, but... Maggie Grace is not going to play Kitty! No one else has been officially cast as Kitty Pryde, but there is talk of Summer Glau (Firefly and Serenity) as a maybe.

Update: Canadian actress Ellen Page has been cast as Shadowcat. She has brown hair and looks cute, so I'm happy.

Spoil-Sports

Recently. Ain't It Cool News (who we know isn't a very reliable source at all) posted a ton of spoilers of stuff that is supposed in X-Men 3's script. Reading this article by AICN, made me want to go off, because it was just so insane. I mean, it would make for a good movie in general, but this is supposed to be an X-Men movie, not an adaptation of "What-If?"!

Anyway, IESB talked to Kinberg, asking if these plot keys were true... good news, no, not really. Apparently, that was a rough draft from four months ago. Bad news/comment on my part, why the hell was that nonsense in a real draft at all!? I won't spoil anything for you guys, in case some of it is in fact going to be in the movie, but I'll say this -- as an X-Fan, I was very much annoyed/ticked off after reading the spoilers and finding out that it wasn't some colossal joke.

Poser poster

They released a teaser poster recently. It looks fabulous!! I'm happy about how nice it looks.

View it here at comingsoon.net.

*Bamf* He's Gone

I deliver this update with a heavy heart. According to Superhero Hype, Nightcrawler will not appear in X-Men Three at all!! Which means that Alan Cumming will not be in X-Men 3 as well (because he plays Nightcrawler). Now, Kurt Wagner is my favorite character in any form of X-Men media, so I am deeply saddened thanks to this news.
